So I'm taking this amazing class this weekend - one I've wanted to take for years. I've had the book, read it cover to cover endless times, lost it, replaced it, read all the articles in every massage publication and have watched every webinar by Tom Myers, now I finally get to learn it "hands on" up in Austin. It's the Myofascial Meridians class from Anatomy Trains. Woo! 

There are alot of examples showing how the body is built like a sailboat, and it got me thinking..... What do you call Ashiatsu on a boat?

Its a hot hot summer in San Antonio, and we're just warming up! These 8 fabulous pairs of feet were on fire last weekend learning Ashiatsu's Barefoot Basics course with me.

On Sunday, November 15th from 12:45-3pm, and again from 2:45-5pm, I need volunteers to receive a massage from the students and give constructive feedback on the quality of their touch- which I will tell you what we're looking for on each move the student makes! Its a fun hour and a half massage where you can really help improve the therapists massage.

A last minute addition to this years Ashi workshop schedule: Due to popular demand, I'll be holding a Barefoot Basics workshop in San Antonio in November!

I'll already be in Dallas teaching Barefoot Basics and Anterior/Sidelying from November 6-9th.... but sometime between the 11th and Thanksgiving I'll hold one in San Antonio as well. Are you interested!?

Let me know what dates work well for you - I am leaning towards the 13th-16th, but if some other group of days makes the majority vote, I'll see what I can do.

The new DVD's for the Ashi-Thai workshop are amazing! Designed for the home study course, these are the most detailed Ashiatsu DVD's yet!

Modifications to stretches and movements are taught throughout the DVD to accommodate practicing the postures at varying levels. This 2 disc DVD set is well-chaptered, which allows you to skip forward past sections and go right to what you are looking for. Materials presented in the workshop, in your manual, and again on the DVD are excellent for continued future reference. Contraindications, special safety remarks, and a wide variety of client restrictions are explained again, it is an amazing review of the workshop. By watching the DVDs, you can literally practice with Ruthie and Kina, the creators of Ashi-Thai, and be in step with them throughout the whole massage, learning their pacing and rhythm!

These DVD's along with the Ashi-Thai manual provided in the workshop will help you to really retain what you learn with me in class. I've got one workshop nailed down for next year "fo sho", it's the Advanced Ashiatsu (Formerly known as Deep Feet 2 & Fusion) scheduled for February 2010. I'm working on planning out the rest of the year in San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, and ~hopefully~ the Seattle area, with lots more Barefoot Basics, Anterior/Sidelying, Ashi-Thai and Advanced Ashi, so keep your toes on the nose and watch my new site for the listing of next years Ashi dates!
